Eleanor Grimm (they/them or she/her) is a 2014 introduced and 2022 revamped character. Eleanor, more commonly known by students as Grimms or by her friends as Elle, is the adopted daughter of Milton Grimm and works as part of the administration. More specifically, they are the head of the Ever After High Archives and help keep track of all the information regarding past, current, and future fairytales. While she formally does not take sides in the destiny conflicts, Eleanor quietly supports the Rebels from the sidelines.
While Shelly C. Witch is GrimmsDePytheLover's EAHSona if they were to exist in EAH as a student, Eleanor stands more of a soapbox for Grimms' worldbuilding.
History[]
Before Ever After[]
Eleanor's origins are shaky at best and surronded by mystery. Official documents declare their birth to be July 19th, 1993 in Lund, Swepen. Close inspection reveals that her birth name is in fact Eleanor (or more accurately, the Swedish Ellinor), but the family name and name of her parents are illegible. What happened to their parents is unknown.
Sometime before their first birthday, baby Ellinor came into household of Milton Grimm, and was rechristened Dorothea Eleanor Grimm. Like most of his children, the Headmaster shares the humble story of Dorothea being found on the steps of Ever After High with nothing but a thin blanket and a crudely written note saying This is Ellinor. Take good care of her. How Grimm obtained their official Swedish birth certificate and thus formal date of birth is unknown. He doesn't like to speak on the matter.
So, Eleanor became the newest chick in Grimm's brood. They grew up with many older and younger siblings, some who were adopted in similar suspicious fashions, others only staying for months at a time before disappearing. The Headmaster was a strict yet absent father, demanding utmost respect from his children but doing little to deserve it. Children were to address him as Headmaster or father in formal settings. There was not much love in the Grimm quarters, but there was a bond between siblings their father could do nothing about.
For a small point in time, his little Thea was the apple of his eye, the cream of the crop of children he had collected. She was exempt from the rules, allowed to rome around free in the school and get into all sorts of trouble. But, as things would have it, another sibling would always seemingly grab the ever-fickle Headmaster's attention and Thea became just another number on the checklist. It was, for no particular reason, that around this time was when "Dorothea" became "Eleanor".

Personality[]
Eleanor is a rather reclusive figure at Ever After High. Most of their public appearances are made alongside their "father", the Milton Grimm, which adds another menacing layer to her. At the request of her father, she tries to keep her distance from the students and spends most days in the Archives or on a work assignment outside the school. Now, none of that ever stops students from coming to her.
Elle is extremely intelligent and knowledgeable about all things Ever After and destiny. Notably, they know a lot of stuff they shouldn't know. They are a naturally very quiet and reserved person and like to keep a mysterious aura to them. Despite this, they will never deny someone an answer to a question and could spend hours talking about anything and everything that anyone asked.
Appearance[]
Eleanor is a young adult, originally from Sweden before being adopted by their German father. They have blonde, nearly white hair usually kept in loose curls or ponytails for ease. Elle is particularly pale and has hazel eyes.
Interests and Hobbies[]
The Archives[]
Elle practically lives in the Archives. They have intrigued her since she was young, which is why her father appointed them Head of the Archives upon the last ones' suspicious retirement. Was it part nepotism? Well, yes, of course, but Eleanor has always been genuinely passionate about the preservation and history of Fairytales. More so, they're obsessed with the many unsolved mysteries of past fairytales. Specifically, Elle has been trying to find out the true identity of the original fairy of Diamonds and Toads' fame, among other anomalies.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Magic Touch - Telekinesis: Elle's telekinesis is limited to books and scrolls stored within Ever After High's libraries. Their powers aren't an innate gift from within or anything, but something their father paid a fairy a lot of money to bless Eleanor with. Eleanor can summon books at will from their respective shelves and can hover a good couple at a time. It's very limited, though, mainly because little Eleanor was fond of smacking people in the face with books.

Milton Grimm (Father)[]
Milton is not a good father. He was not much of a father, for that matter. He was more of an estranged guardian of Elle's, legally required to care but not so much emotionally. Throughout their childhood, Elle was not allowed to speak to their father most days, unless an appointment was made, of course. He was a very busy mam, y'know. Milton never saw Eleanor as his child and frequently talked about how generous and gracious it was of him to take them in. Elle stayed quiet when he said this.
Biological Parents[]
Eleanor has no clue who their birth parents are. While it's unknown to the public, Elle very well knows that they disobeyed their destiny and went "poof!" somehow or another. As the head of the Archives, Eleanor has access to every single fairytale who supposedly went poof, but can't pinpoint which one is their parents. With the Rebel Movement, Eleanor has started to believe that their parents are still out there and that her adopted father has something malicious to do with these "poofs!".
Siblings[]
Over the years Milton has adopted numerous children from families in a similar situation to Eleanor. Many would go on to have administration roles in the school. Others- most, really- left once they turned 18 and never turned back. She doesn't keep in contact with most of them. She is one of the youngest of Milton's children whom he's "collected" (as the children put it) over the decades.

- Taylor Grimm - 9 years older than Elle turned 18, and ran off to Wonderland. Haven't heard a word from her since.
- Martha Grimm - 2 years younger than Elle, studies abroad in Italy for her Doctorate and is sponsored by the Calvino family.

- Eleanor is the successor to a few previous Grimm brothers characters- Taylor Grimm, Miley Grimm, Dorothea Grimm, and Eleanora Grimm.
Name[]
- Eleanor was chosen due to Grimms' nickname, Elle, from Shelly. Eleanor was the name of Grimms' previous Milton Grimm daughter, who was combined with Taylor/Dorothea Grimm.
- Dorothea is the name of the Brothers Grimm's mother.
Concept[]
Eleanor has undergone many iterations throughout the years, and their story is pretty complicated. I'll just start at the beginning.
Eleanor was originally named Taylor Grimm and was my very first Ever After High OC ever, along with Wilhelmina Rabbit and Dora Mouse. Taylor was the daughter of Giles Grimm and the daughter of the White Rabbit (this was Pre-Bunny Blanc, so their mother was just an irrelevant non-legacy child of the White Rabbit) and was unabashedly a self-insert character. Her parent's love was forbidden and thus when she and her sister (Wilhelmina) were born they had to be separated- Taylor sent to the "real" world and Wilhelmina forced to wonderland with her mother. Eventually, Taylor finds her way back to EAH and shenanigans ensue.
Taylor was a very bland character. She was what 2014 Grimms thought of themselves- Quirky XD and whimsical or whatever. Mainly because I was very young when she was created and there wasn't much I could do with her that I had already done with other characters but better. And while over the years I was able to rebrand other old characters to well-developed, diverse, and interesting characters, Taylor just... Never had that. But she was my first so I couldn't let go. She sat in limbo for a very long time.
Eventually, I decided to revamp her and her counterpart- Miley Grimm, daughter of Milton Grimm. Taylor was renamed Dorothea (Taylor was a far too personal name I wasn't okay with being on the internet) and Miley was renamed Eleanora. Dorothea (or Thea) was still the daughter of Giles and Wilhelmina but was given up to her uncle Milton to save face. Eleanora, on the other hand, was born to two teenage students who were not destined lovers and was taken in by Milton. Her mother was the Light Princess, and it was supposed to be this big whole mystery about who her parents really are and oooo intrigue. It wasn't very interesting.
Eventually, I decided to go threw a mass cleaning of my OCs. Wilhelmina, Dora, and Eleanora were put on the chopping block, while I still couldn't let go of Dorothea. So, once again she sat in limbo... Until The Book of the Kind and the Vain.
Much of Todd and Megan's research involved a lot of extensive research regarding past iterations of their stories. Todd originally got much of his intel from a "G. R. Imes", a very obvious code for GRIMMS, and was supposed to be Giles communicating with him beneath the school. But then I remembered Dorothea lying around and decided to give them a fresh coat of paint.
Dorothea, now Eleanor, kept their roots as a semi-EAHSona by being my mouthpiece for all my lore. I think way too much about family trees and dynamics and the history of legacies and really non-important stuff no one else thinks of. Elle, being in charge of the Archives and thus the knowledge of every single past destiny holder, was a natural fit. The name Eleanor was choosen as homage to Eleanora, as well as my IRL nickname Elle- both Taylor and Eleanor are close to what my real name was at the time of their conception. Plus, the fact that my name is Grimms and I didn't have a Grimm EAHSona was a shame. So, that's what Eleanor has become. Obviously, not everything about Elle and I is the same- on purpose. Elle uses they/she pronouns and is an aro lesbian, while I use they/them and am bisexual. She's not supposed to be a complete insert of myself, but her roots were so it's hard to ignore that.
I do love Eleanor, I'm glad to see them change after all this time. I like to think each iteration of them reflects a different iteration of my OC makings and how I go about everything- from flat, one-off characters, to trying too hard, to settling with my abilities and making characters that I love, not what I think will get the most attention from other people.
