Lenore Casket [she/her] is the daughter of The Princess in the Chest, and functions as a background figure in shared universe she exists in.

She is a Royal, finding her story fun and exciting, and enjoys having a Happily Ever After. She is not the sort of person to think too deeply into this.

Character Notes[]

Here are the notes I compiled when writing the "pitch" for Lenore.

Lenore is a spontaneous and irresponsible young teenager, who’s used to having things handed to her. As it is her first year at Ever After High, she has a lot to adjust to. She enjoys bicycling and has some nerdy hobbies like DnD.

She enjoys food and snacks a lot, in a quirky teenage sort of way. She’s fond of rare meats, and has notable canines.

Another aspect of Lenore is that she is rather paranoid, and during EAH specials, act as if the world is going to end. She tends to overreact to small inconveniences or disturbances.

Contrary to hiding the princess away, Lenore's parents figured that if she had to go through destiny anyway, then why not just ignore the curse and raise her normally? Both the Princess and the Smith are rather lax and carefree parents, who doted on their daughter, enabling spoiled and irresponsible habits, but that did not mean that Lenore grew up lacking love.

Basically, she’s careless - with other people, with her belongings, and that could play into a potential arc if you were interested in her beyond NPC-ing.

Furthermore, here are some appearance details.

While vampire motifs are objectively more fitting to the role, Lenore has never been written with vampires in mind, but rather zombies. If Lenore is to be written, this aspect should be used for designs and references. Please do not use vampires.

I would like her general appearance to stay the same, except with perhaps some variation to the hair length. She has a gaunt face (!!! important) and piercing blue eyes that are wide open. She was designed with the theme of the four horsemen in mind. I don’t imagine her with much makeup at all, to emphasise the lifeliness of her appearance.

She's dark-haired and pale, with piercing blue eyes, and is white (Danish). Previously, I've used Isabelle Fuhrman as a faceclaim, and she still works as a good approximation.

Common Appearances[]

As a background character, Lenore does not have an arc of her own, but often appears in scenes to deepen the universe and build a scene. Here are examples of where you may find her.
  • Tech Club: Lenore is a member of Tech Club. She can be seen helping out on Ban Shi-Kyung's show.
  • Mainstream Nerd Hobbies: Lenore does not engage in "creation", ie, she does not draw fanart or write fanfiction, or even seek out that kind of material. She enjoys media typical of what's mainstream in pop culture and simply keeps up with those pieces of media.
  • Bicycling: Lenore bicycles around Book End. She has crashed into several people because of her carelessness.
Here are some details of the sorts of people she commonly interacts with.

Primarily, I’ve always written Lenore as hanging out with other princesses. This is mostly because she’s not the very proper princess type, and neither were many of the princesses that I RPed with, so this was the crowd that she drew. I would like to keep this a thing.

Lenore has gotten along very averagely or even badly with prince or hero figures. She thinks their pick-up lines are terrible and also that she is definitely cooler than them all. This doesn’t have anything to do with her thinking herself as “too strong to be saved”, it’s just that she finds their presence a nuisance.

FAQ[]

Q: What's this? Is Lenore an OC again?

Technically, yes. Lenore is a character that is allowed to exist in my universe. But functionally, no. I don't really have any interest in writing fanfiction focused on her, but I like seeing her interact with other characters, or doing something funny in the background.

Q: Can I put Lenore in art or fanfiction?

Yes! You don't need to ask permission to do so. That's why this page is written in this style - to make it easy to portray her. She's not a very in-depth character, which makes her work well as a shallow character that can boost a scene.

Q: Can Lenore be friends / enemies / significant others with my OC?

What Lenore does in her own time is none of my business.

Acknowledgements[]

  • Hidden, for expressing their interest in Lenore, and also for having OCs who I think would be interesting to have Lenore interact with. I've used worldbuilding to avoid making characters, so why not make a "character" to further worldbuilding?
